Notes, main goal and alerts
Updated October 18, 2026
Notes on the chart
Under the chart of a site, Add a note with a date and a short text: "newsletter sent", "new design online", "ads paused". The note appears as a mark on that day of the chart and in a list under it, so a peak or a dip explains itself months later.
Owners and managers add and delete notes. Everyone who sees the report sees them, shared links included. Notes are also available through the API and the MCP server.
Main goal (#1 KPI)
In the site settings, next to a goal, choose Make main goal. The report then opens with that goal: visitors who reached it, conversion rate and the change against the previous period. The overview shows it on the site's card for the last 30 days. Choose it again to unset it.
Email alerts
In the site settings, under Email alerts, two alerts go to the owner of the site, both on by default:
- Traffic change: every morning, yesterday's visitors are compared with the average of the seven days before. If they doubled or halved, you get an email. Sites with fewer than 20 visitors a day on average get no traffic alerts, because small numbers swing too much.
- No visits for 24 hours: if a site that was recording receives no visits for a day, you get an email. Usually the snippet was removed by a theme update, a new template or a cache plugin.
Each alert is sent at most once a day, and the silence alert once per silence: when visits come back and stop again, you are told again.
