Import your history from Plausible

Updated October 18, 2026

If you are moving from Plausible, you can bring your history with you. Statsdot reads the CSV export that Plausible offers to every customer.

1. Export from Plausible

In Plausible, open the settings of your site, go to Imports & Exports and choose Export data. Plausible emails you a link to a ZIP file with several CSV files (imported_visitors_...csv, imported_pages_...csv and so on). Download it and keep it as a ZIP; do not unpack it.

2. Upload it to Statsdot

In Statsdot, open the settings of the site (the cog next to the period buttons) and find Import from Plausible. Choose the ZIP and select Import. A typical export takes a few seconds. The ZIP can be up to 12 MB.

Importing again replaces the previous import. Delete imported data removes it and leaves your own data untouched.

What is imported

Daily totals for:

  • visitors, pageviews, bounce rate and visit duration;
  • top pages, entry pages and exit pages;
  • referrers and UTM source, medium and campaign;
  • countries, devices, browsers and operating systems;
  • custom events, outbound links and file downloads, which also count towards your goals.

Only the days before your site started recording in Statsdot are imported, so no day is counted twice. If you run both tools side by side for a while, export from Plausible after installing Statsdot: the days already measured by Statsdot are skipped. Days older than your plan's data retention are left out.

What is different for imported days

  • Filters apply to your own data only. While a filter is active, imported days are left out, and the dashboard says so.
  • Funnels, event labels and visitors in real time use your own data only.
  • Plausible counts visits slightly differently, so bounce rate and visit duration for imported days are close to, but not exactly, what Statsdot would have measured.
  • Imported numbers do not count towards your monthly events.

Privacy

Plausible's export contains only aggregated numbers per day, with no data about individual visitors, and Statsdot stores it the same way.
