Install Statsdot on Wix

Before you start

Wix runs custom code only on a published site with a connected domain, and connecting a domain requires a Wix Premium plan. Sites on a free Wix address cannot add the snippet.

Add the snippet

  1. In your site's dashboard, go to Settings.
  2. Under Development & integrations, click Custom Code.
  3. Click + Add Custom Code and paste your snippet:

  1. Give it a name, such as Statsdot.
  2. Add it to All pages and choose Load code once.
  3. Under Place Code in, choose Head.
  4. Apply.

data-domain must be your connected domain, without https:// or www.

Why load it once

Wix switches pages without a full reload. Statsdot follows those changes through the browser's history API by itself. If Wix loaded the code again on each new page, two copies of the script would run and pages would be counted twice.

Check that it works

The code does not run in the Wix editor or its preview. Open your live site in a private window and look at the dashboard: within a few seconds you appear among the visitors on the site right now.

Goals

A goal can be a page visit, such as /thank-you, or an event. Paths are matched exactly and without the query string, so a confirmation page whose address includes an order number cannot be a page goal. Add goals in the site's Settings (the cog next to the dates). More in Events and goals.
