CNIL exemption mode
Updated November 3, 2026
Sites that measure visitors in France without asking for consent can now turn on the CNIL exemption mode in their settings, section General. It follows the self-assessment the CNIL published for providers in July 2025.
With the mode on, Statsdot stores no campaign tags, revenue or custom properties, turns off imports and Search Console, and rounds every count to the nearest ten, so no row or filter can single out a visitor. A new opt-out script gives visitors a button to stop being measured, for the privacy policy page.
What changes, the opt-out and a privacy policy text to adapt are in the CNIL mode guide.
