WooCommerce analytics without cookies
Updated October 17, 2026
A shop needs a few numbers to make good decisions: how many people visit, where they come from, which products they look at, how many add something to the cart, and how many buy. You can get all of them without cookies.
Install
On WooCommerce, install the Statsdot plugin from the WordPress plugin directory, or add the snippet as in the WooCommerce guide. The plugin counts two events for you:
- Add to cart, on product pages and on AJAX buttons in product lists.
- Purchase, once per order on the thank-you page.
Only the event name is sent: no amounts, products, order numbers or customer details.
Turn them into goals
In the site settings, add Add to cart and Purchase as event goals. The dashboard then shows how many visitors reached each one and the conversion rate over all visitors.
Read the funnel
Compare three numbers for the same period:
- Visitors.
- Visitors who added to cart.
- Visitors who purchased.
A big drop between 1 and 2 points to product pages (price, photos, stock, shipping costs shown too late). A big drop between 2 and 3 points to the checkout (forced account creation, payment options, surprise costs).
Which sources sell
Click a goal in the dashboard: every panel filters to the visitors who reached it. The Sources panel then shows which referrers and campaigns bring buyers, not just visits. Tag your newsletter and ad links with UTM parameters to see each campaign.
Why cookieless numbers are higher
Analytics that needs consent only counts the visitors who accept. Cookieless analytics counts everyone except bots, so your conversion rate is computed over your real traffic.
